Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond. You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond.
I'm surprised at how present the Day of the Dead has been this year. It's awesome to see how my generation, and younger ones too, cherish this tradition joyfully. Even with Halloween costumes on every corner, calacas, catrinas and papel picado abound everywhere you see. I don't think there's another celebration that's so deeply engrained in all of us.
If you have never been to Mexico, this is the date to come and visit. It's just beautiful.
